These three heavy hitters start the process of removing bedrock to allow large 42 inch pipes to be connected to the upstream cofferdam to assist in moving water around the site using gravity. Because these pipes are gravity fed, the sections of pipe must be set at very specific elevations to ensure maximum performance. The good folks at Caterpillar would be thrilled to have this photo. It is important to mention that WPWA placed stipulations in the contract that all machinery must be in good or mint condition to minimize potential of fluid spills. All equipment must be removed from the river for fueling and parked on the land when not in use.
